Mother in law wisdom

My mother in law summed up where I am at this week in her typical wisdom. When God has you on the edge of something new its exciting and scary but while it might not be comfortable it’s a good place to be.

Four week plan

I am co-ordinating the inaugural Easter Art Hunt around Kaiapoi so I have spent the weekend planning the next four weeks. I am very grateful for a tech literate business planning husband!! I'm also getting into Lent as a season for the first time. I've so often wondered about the mary/martha mix in my life and really liked Lynnes description of that a few months ago here 8 Nov. Balance will be the challenge....

Its not about the money

I know its easy for me to say did anyone talk to the mum about adopting. I'm sure they did and I'm sure the decision is almost impossibly hard. My heart breaks for all those in this story about late term abortions here.

Mixed feelings U2

Well my first feeling wasn't mixed - it was - I'm sure Steve is kidding me when he said U2 was off!! Its sunk in a bit now. My pilgrimage and my girls weekend with Beky delayed? Or should we still go as we have a new little niece in Auck this week (welcome Emily) ... but then five family birthdays in Chch next weekend anyway!! Wouldn't have been my pick of weekends!! Amid this prayers for the U2 families - their plans changed and their families first is so right. I find flexibility in plans so hard but will wait ....

Spiritual census

We’ve just done a census on our physical beings – how about for our spiritual life?

Faith is always growing – I’d like to know how?

“We’re going to grow so we need to know”

1. Do you have a faith?

2. How do you express that faith?

3. What gives you strength in hard times?

4. How do you give thanks in good times?

5. Are you satisfied with the spiritual side of your life?

6. Are there people who help you in your spiritual walk?

7. Do you have any spiritual “children”? (People you have helped)

8. Are there spiritual places that help you?

9. If you could set up a church what would it look like?

More great news

A friend told us yesterday that her boy who had cancer four years ago got the all clear!!

Great news
Our sixth team can race in the tri after all. There was an admin mix up that meant one of our teams got missed. But there has been a cancellation and they are back in. Means a lot to girls who have been doing lots of training.
Thanks Lord. Watch out for "God's girls" in Rangiora this sunday morning - blessings to all 500 entrants.

My Triathlon Prayer

Lord God please

Curb my competitive edge
Help me celebrate participation
Amaze me with achievements I see

Help me be certain in my own mind
of what is right for me
& not be a stumbling block for others

Comfort our 6th team that missed registration
Protect the bodies & touch the spirits of all entrants
Calm the wind!!

Surprise me with your participation Lord
Guide each peddle, stroke, step & word
Come with us Lord
